The Fairmount Foursquare, Part 1

This year has been a journey of highs and lows. Looking back, I actually began 2016 in tears from a contract that fell through and the uncertainty of where to move next.  Moving and transition is not typically an emotional trigger for me, but we had just moved out of the Fresh Farmhouse, our 6th move in a brief 6 years of marriage. I was restless, eager for the next thing and frustrated I couldn’t control the situation. Brett was his typical west coast cool, sensitive but completely un-phased by the setback.

Creekwood Project

One area of business we’ve struggled with over the years is capturing images of our completed projects. This is for various reasons, but ultimately it boils down to the fact that we aren't drawn to interior images absent of real life. This hadn’t occurred to us until recently, when we were compiling images for our portfolio and were unable to find many worthy of representing our process - they were boring, uninteresting and void of emotion. We realized the approach to our portfolio was inconsistent with our core value to establish relationship. Let me dial back here.

Round Top

Brett and I prefer to travel as a family, we love exploring new places with the kids and creating memories we can hold onto forever - let's be honest, this memory is still in the fresh wound stage. Round Top with kiddos is a recipe for disaster - antiques, sharp rusty barn metal (totally on trend) and one handsy 2.5 year old - yikes! Aside from a very public tantrum over a $500 antique car, we managed to dodge bad attitude and tetanus; We actually came home refreshed and inspired. Round Top for the win!
