We are suckers for books around our house and, in my opinion, there's nothing better than being introduced to a new children's book. I try and keep our rotation fresh, otherwise, we begin to memorize them, which leads to Brett and I popcorn rap-reciting the book (it can get weird). For those of you with young kids, we wanted to share a few of Walker's current favorites:
Sheep in a Jeep, by Nancy E. Shaw - Brett's aunt gifted us this book. It's a great start to your collection. I laughed out loud the first time I read it through - humorous in both its writing and illustrations.
Oh, the Thinks you can Think, by Dr. Seuss - This was our go-to book during Walker's first year of life. It's a quick read with lots of colors and funky illustrations. A classic.
Where is the Green Sheep?, by Mem Fox - We all share the love for this book. Even after reading it a zillion times, I never tire from watching Walker search each page for the green sheep.
Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type, by Doreen Cronin - My friend Kate introduced me to this book. Cleverly written storyline and precious invitations.
My Very First Book of Animal Sounds, by Eric Carle - Walker loves Eric Carle books. This is his current favorite, as he's all about animals at the moment. Although he's not interested in the bottom portion (where you match the animal to it's sound), I love owning a book that will grow with him.
What books are you reading with your kids? We'd love to add them to our collection!
