A few weeks ago we had a photo shoot at the house. Our house is earthy in tone, so I decided a bowl of peaches would add a nice muted pop of color to the kitchen. Apples, with their shiny peel came across too harsh. I love the images; peaches complimented the wood tones throughout the house, layered to the earthy feel and pulled out the livability in the house.
After wrapping the shoot and left with a bowl of peaches, I decided to make a peach pie. There’s nothing better than a homemade pie, from scratch, crust and all. The entire experience is therapeutic, slicing the peaches, rolling out the dough, fluting the edges, working so hard for a piece of dessert. It’s been a long time since I labored to make a meal, and it sure felt good. I’m since on a roll, chocolate pie, peach pie, apple pie, buttermilk pie, I can’t stop making them.
